Role Overview

Senior Systems Specialist, MCSE / MCITP, Server 2008 / 2012, Exchange 2010 / 2013, SQL 2008/2014, Active Directory, VMware including vSphere, Hyper-V, SAN, LAN, WAN (Cisco / HP), Citrix, Mobile devices including Apple, Android and Blackberry, Hosted Solutions.

Reporting to the Support Manager, you will have a sound knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange and SQL, and hosted services such as Office 365. A strong knowledge of SAN technology is also essential.

You will work with a broad range of clients from small single site companies to larger enterprise level virtualised environments. Ideally certified to MCITP, you should also have considerable experience with virtual infrastructures. You should have a good working knowledge and experience implementing Cloud technologies. You will have experience of LAN and WAN environments with active equipment, a CCNA qualification would therefore be of additional benefit in this area but is not essential. A strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting and / or Hyper-V would also be a desirable. Knowledge of Citrix is not essential but would also be of additional benefit as would knowledge of other Microsoft applications.

The role involves project, installation and presales work, together with Systems and infrastructure support for our client base. The provision of technical assistance / 3rd line Support to our 1st and 2nd line personnel also forms part of the remit. Regular travel to client sites and some out of hours working are required and accordingly a company car or car allowance, overtime and standby payments are all part of the package on offer.

Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the service industry, is essential. Strong customer facing skills and the ability to multitask effectively are also key aspects of the role.

Strong technical, interpersonal and organisational skills are required. You should be calm under pressure and in client facing situations, have a high calibre of administrative competence, demonstrate total task ownership and possess the ability to think on your feet.
